Canadian melodic progressive rock

A studio concept project where expressive guitars, wide analog synths and cinematic storytelling meet.

The project

Stories beyond the clock.

The Last Quiet Measure is a Canadian, AI-based studio concept project dedicated to melodic progressive rock in the spirit of the late 70s — reimagined with modern clarity and emotional focus.

Built around strong storytelling and cinematic atmosphere, the music moves between dramatic intensity and melodic openness. Clean yet expressive guitars intertwine with broad synth textures, creating a sound that feels nostalgic without looking backwards.

The debut album Here, Now & Beyond unfolds as a connected narrative rather than a loose collection of songs. Its two thematic arcs — The Time Trilogy and Journey — explore motion, decision, longing and, ultimately, arrival.

Voice & vision

Emotion at the centre.

At the heart of the project is lead singer Evan Callahan, whose expressive voice carries each song from introspective stillness to anthemic release.

The fictional guest voice Angel Q appears at pivotal moments, adding emotional contrast without shifting the focus away from the project’s core identity.

From the dramatic weight of “Phantom in the Light” to the drive of “Before the Clock Runs Dry” and the defining energy of “It’s Now or It’s Gone,” every arrangement serves the story.
